The Cost vs. Value report for 2018 is out!

Remodeling Magazine compiles information annually to determine how much of the cost of a specific repair is recovered in increased home resale value and other factors.

This year they estimate that a roof replacement recovers 68% of the project cost, siding replacement recovers 77%, and window replacement recovers 74%. Another way of saying this is that it actually costs less than you think - if you replace your roof and then sell your home in a few years and recoup 68%, you've paid 32% of the total price. And, that's before any energy savings and savings on repairs you're likely to have had on your old roof. That's money well spent to prevent moisture, pests and material deterioration.
